CEKTT is a 2 day in-person course. Taught by Dr. Sybille Molle, DVM, Diplomate American College of Veterinary Sports Medicine and Rehabilitation, Certified Equine Rehabilitation Therapist. Dr. Molle was the original creator of Kinesio Tape’s Equine Program for Dr. Kenzo Kase. Dr. Molle attended the CERT program at Animal Rehabilitation Institute (ARI) in 2010 and the human taping program of Kinesio Taping Association (KTA) in 2011 when she became the first worldwide veterinarian to earn the title of Kinesio Taping Instructor. Since 2012, she taught equine Kinesio taping method for KTA until 2016 and in 2018 she came back to ARI with an updated program that was offered online + 2-days live lab until the fall of 2025. Since 2026 the certificate program in equine kinesiology taping is coming back to in-person version with new updates on the techniques and added knowledge that is implemented over time also based on several research projects Dr Molle is pursuing on the effects of kinesiology taping on muscular activity and on its applications in equine rehabilitation. Dr Molle is also lecturing worldwide on the topic of equine kinesiology taping as one of the most accredited experts in this field.
The aim of this course is to provide participants with the knowledge and practical skills to properly use kinesiology taping techniques within their everyday practice to benefit their equine patient. Following an introduction on the history and general characteristics of the tape, a comparison between the different elastic tapes available on the market will be demonstrated. This will allow students to understand the differences and acquire the knowledge to decide which tape is best suited for the chosen application.
The basics of physiological action of the tape on the different body systems will be explained before introducing specific applications for muscles, tendon, ligaments, joints, lymphatic and neurological systems. While teaching the different possible therapeutic applications of the tape, the instructor will teach the basic clinical reasoning skills for a more effective use of kinesiology tape in the horse. During the practical sessions, proper tension in the application of the tape will be demonstrated and practiced along with the correct anatomical placement of the tape. The instructor will guide the students in this proper application which is critical for the tape’s effectiveness.
At the end of the course, each student will be able to demonstrate the ability to properly apply the tape for different types of conditions. You will be able to perform a complete clinical reasoning progression through the choice of tape and application of tape for treatment of specific conditions and cases.
Once registered you will receive a link to download and print the PDF manual for the course.
